Become a Volunteer!

Have you always wanted to be a fire fighter? Now is the perfect time! We are always looking for qualified candidates to add to the ranks of our department.

Citizens over the age of 18 are welcome to apply for membership with the department. Unlike a majority of fire departments, not every volunteer with the Franklin-Bingham Fire Department is required to live or work in the areas we serve. While living close by is important, we value the skills performed in accomplishing "station duty" in addition to incident response. The benefits of this program are to not only maintain responders from the area, but to also accomplish the daily operational needs we are faced with in addition to bolstering our daytime response capabilities. With this in mind, the following chart describe station duty requirements (day/weekday performance) for volunteers of the department:

Classification Required Station Duty
Probationary Status 4 hours per week
Reside 6-20 miles from station 4 hours per week
Reside > 20 miles from station 8 hours per week
